Waikiki Beach - One of the best places to get the most for your money is travel to Waikiki in Hawaii.  This is one of the best places in the world to get not only beautiful beaches but history and culture all rolled into one.

One of largest beaches in this area is Duke Kahanamoku Beach. Here vacationers can sunbath or do water activities like kayaking, snorkeling and much more. We suggest wearing water shoes as the bottom can be rough and easy to cut your feet. Other favorite beach locations are Diamond Head, Wai’alae Beach Park, Ala Moana Beach Park and San Souci Beach. Make sure to bring lots of sunscreen as there is so much to do you will want to stay on the beach all day.

Vacationers can also see Pearl Harbor during their time on the island of Oahu. In 1941, the Japanese attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor which brought the Americans into World War II. Today, travelers can tour the USS Missouri (aka The Mighty Mo), which is now a museum. The battleship has a very large importance in history because it was on the deck of that ship that the Japanese surrendered ending World War II. Tourists can also go to the USS Arizona Memorial which stands to honor those service members who died during the attack on Pearl Harbor. And don’t forget about the US Army Museum of Hawaii where travelers can learn more about World War II as well as the Army’s involvement in wars like Korea and Vietnam.

Let’s not forget about experiencing the Hawaiian culture on your trip. An outstanding way to take in a luau is at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. They have the Waikiki Starlight Luau on Sunday through Thursday evenings. This is the only outdoor luau in all of Waikiki and takes place on the roof of the Mid-Pacific Conference Center. Another great attraction is the Iolani Palace which was the home of last monarchs of Hawaii before it became a US territory. Here you can learn about the history of Hawaii and enjoy various exhibits.

Overall, you will love your time in Waikiki.  The list of attractions is immense. Plus, there are so many other attractions and things to do on Oahu as well as the other islands. Travelers can island hop by plane. Check for flights to Waikiki and between islands through our booking engine here at TravelingWarrior.com: (Search for Great Prices on Flights).
